Barham Downs

We are a group of four church congregations (Barham, Bishopsbourne, Kingston and Womenswold) that worship and work together in and around the Elham Valley a few miles south of the Cathedral City of Canterbury.

Here you will find information about:
     - heritage of the four mediaeval churches
     - what’s going on in next few weeks
     - considering a baptism or wedding
     - exploring Christian faith.

Between the four churches we offer a variety of activities and worship services, but our emphasis is on being the family of God's people. It is our belief that God loves us all, and is present in every part of life, not just Sundays.

Whether you have been a Christian for a long time, or are still exploring what faith is all about, you are most welcome to join us at any time. Church services and other activities are listed on the  ‘What’s On’  page. For those who wish to explore, we now run an  Alpha  course each Autumn.

You can also read a little more of what Christians believe on our Faith Page.

Further details may be obtained by contacting one of the ministers or the church office. Contact details will be found on the ‘Who’s Who’ page.

Note: If you are doing family research, we hold some Registers, but many of our old church records are held at the Archives in Canterbury. Another useful source of information is the lists of churchyard inscriptions that have been collected by the Kent Archaeological Society.
